Fly Tying for All
with Joseph Ross
Fly fishing and fly tying go hand in hand as do a "sit around camp" attitude. But catching that first fish, with a fly tied by you, has visions of huge Rangeley trout and salmon. Join us in a casual atmosphere, tying flies. Want to create your own "killer" fly or maybe just add a few new patterns to the fly boxes? Streamers are the next step. This class is an informal sharing of techniques, tall tales and experimenting with fly typing materials and tying primarily streamers, tackling the intermediate level and expanding the beginner level of fly tying. Intermediate level fly instruction will focus on mostly trolling flies, some streamers and sharing the streamer legends with focus on a well tied fly and where to catch large trout. Fly tying is a sharing and very creative activity.
It is exhilarating, making you a more successful fly fisher. Fly tying is an art form and framed flies can be used as gifts and shared. We will enter the mystic world of streamer fishing. These sessions are open to basic and intermediate level tiers. We all can learn from each other. No prior experience needed, we can teach on the "fly".
Bring your favorite fly and let's have some lad back fun.
A material fee of $75.00 for a kit will be paid directly to the instructor.
This class will meet Tuesday, October 17th to December 5th.
