Substitute Teacher Workshop

This substitute teacher training course is designed to prepare people interested in serving as a substitute teacher or ed tech. There will be plenty of "hands on learning" that will include important classroom management techniques and teaching strategies. We'll also cover legal aspects and help you develop your own "sub pack" of resources and an action plan that will get you started on the right foot.

Attendees will earn a certificate recognized by many local school districts.

Babysitting Certification Course

We are partnering with Franklin Memorial Hospital to bring a babysitting course to our community members.

All participants will earn an American Heart Association Certification in First Aid and CPR. Common knowledge and helpful babysitting techniques will also be taught during this course.

A Community That Cares: Be a Foster Parent

Start your journey to becoming a foster or adoptive parent!

After registering, you will be sent a link to access an informational video.

The licensing process, available resources, supports, and next steps for those interested are among the topics covered. Foster families and homes are needed in every Maine community. Children in foster care need supportive adults to provide loving homes until they can be safely reunited with their families.

This is an online course so it will start once you register. 

Viewing usually takes one hour.

Adult Education Diploma

Free

Pick up where you left off in school. You can transfer all of your past high school credits to your adult education diploma. our courses are designed so that you can focus on your personal interests and career goals, including workforce certificate programs. You can also earn credits for out-of-school activities including on-the-job training, work experience, and volunteer work.

Behavioral Health Professional Certification Training

Our community is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life.

Children’s Behavioral Health Services is vital to Maine’s children with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, and Mental Health Disorders and their families. The need in our area is great!

As an integral part of the child’s treatment team, a Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential.

We are excited to connect our community to this wonderful ONLINE training program. The online training will equip you to help children who are receiving Behavioral Health Services. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services providers. The training can be started at any time and finished at your own pace.

You will complete 12 online modules and 12 hours of live instruction (offered virtually).  An online Bloodborne Pathogens training, as well as Child & Adult First Aid & CPR training, will be made available to you if you do not already possess those certifications. The entire training takes about 45 hours to complete. Registration is ongoing until June 30, 2023.

Any individual who will be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course, may register. (Individuals must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent to get certified.)
